JUST A CUTE LIL LACY DRESS

Yet another really cute dress that’s been making it’s rounds on the free internet pages, and of course, it caught my attention too – so here’s my pattern notes on a ‘how-to-make-this-beauty’

Thank you for joining me.

Oh, and may I add that the fastest way to find any of my blogs is via Pinterest.

All my blogs can be printed.  Find the printer friendly (green) link on the right side of this blog.  You can also hit Control P (or Command P for Mac) on your keyboard, and the blog will go directly to the connected printer.

Remember that you only print if absolutely essential.  Save paper – Save Our Earth.

Do remember to add my blog URL when you make and show off your creation.

Just copy the link on the search bar above - that's the blog URL.

To purchase this or similar yarn online, click the highlighted links below to buy your yarns online via Amazon.  While you will still pay the same, I may get paid by Amazon as well.

This is a free blog - so do pay it forward for me.  Cheers.

Pattern instructions : Using US terminology
This is not  my original creation, and I’ve just transcribed the photographs and charts that are with the original pattern.

This pattern is worked in one piece from the neckline and in rounds. The front is open and you can add buttons at the end.
The full chart is given right at the bottom of this write up.

Foundation Single Crochet : fsc : https://youtu.be/mcT85fwh4mA

Start with 51 fsc.

Double Crochet : dc : yo, insert hk into st ; yo (3 lps on hk); [yo, draw through 2 lps] twice.  One dc made.  Check out the video at https://youtu.be/xdnjB27zpYo

Chainless start for Double Crochet : I dislike the ch-2 / ch – 3 start, and this is what I do to start my row of dc.
Check out the video at https://youtu.be/wskv3iTjRx0

Round 1 : dc in the 1st fsc,
ch 1,  sk next fsc , 2 dc in next fsc ;
*ch 1, sk next fsc , 2 dc in next fsc* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 fsc ;
sk 2nd last fsc , ch 1 and dc in last fsc.

Note : Quick check here that you have 24 "sets" in total.
In the first round of chart, designer seems to have made one set of 2-dc and next set of 3-dc.  However, this didn’t work for me, as it gave me too large a neckline - (probably due to my yarn being slightly thicker ??) , so choices.. choices.. and decisions.. decisions for you !

Round 2 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-1 sp , (dc in next dc , 2 dc in next dc) ;
*ch 2, sk next ch-1 sp , rep from (to) once* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-1 sp , ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Round 3 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ,
(dc in next dc , 2 dc in next dc , dc in next dc) ;
*ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , rep from (to) once* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-2 sp , ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Round 4 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ; (dc in next dc , 2 dc in next dc , dc in next 2 dc);
*ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , dc in next 4 dc ;
rep from (to) once* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-2 sp , ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Round 5 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ;
dc in the 1st 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc , dc in next 2 dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp , (dc in next dc , 2 dc in next dc , dc in next 2 dc) ;
*ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , [dc in the next 2 dc  , 2 dc in next dc , dc in the next 2 dc] ;
ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , rep from (to) once* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-2 sp , ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Round 6 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ; dc in the 1st 6 dc ;
*ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , dc in the next 5 dc ;
ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , dc in next 6 dc* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-2 sp , ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Note : The designer has divided for armholes here.
So as you can see from her photos, you keep 3 sets (rep) for the front, then divide keeping 6 sets for armhole ; the next 6 sets for the back ; the next 6 sets will make your other armhole and finally you’re left with the last 3 sets that make the other front half.

So remember to divide in the coming round per your counts (the counts given above are per designer photos).  I will continue writing the pattern as per chart.

Round 7 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ;
dc in the 1st 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc ,
dc in next 3 dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ,
(dc in next 2 dc , 2 dc in next dc , dc in next 2 dc) ;
*ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp ,
 [dc in the next 2 dc  , 2 dc in next dc ,
dc in the next 3 dc] ;
ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , rep from (to) once* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-2 sp ,
ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Round 8 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ; dc in the 1st 7 dc ;
*ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , dc in the next 6 dc ;
ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , dc in next 7 dc* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-2 sp , ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Round 9 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ;
dc in the 1st 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc ,
dc in next 3 dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp , (dc in next 2 dc ,
 2 dc in next dc , dc in next 3 dc) ;
*ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , [dc in the next 2 dc ,
2 dc in next dc , dc in the next 3 dc] ;
ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp ,  rep from (to) once* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-2 sp , ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Round 10 : dc in the 1st dc ;
ch 2,  sk next ch-2 sp ; dc in the 1st 7 dc ;
*ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , dc in the next 8 dc ;
ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp , dc in next 7 dc* ;
rep from *to* till last 2 sts ;
sk last ch-2 sp , ch 2 and dc in last dc.

Continue the increases by rep Rounds 9 & 10 till you have one set of 12 dc and the other set of 11 dc’s all around.
We’ll then meet back here for the lacy pattern bit.

And we’re nearly done.. great job
Quick review..
These four rounds from 1 - 4 are the pattern rounds, that you’ll repeat once more.
In between you’ve got 2 rounds of just plain rows – i.e dc in each dc, and ch-2 over the ch-2 sps.
You then end with one more plain rows and you’re finally done

Below is the full chart.
