A BRAIDED BRACELET

Just recently I started on some jewellery as a lark.. and gosh, it’s so addictive! I am thrilled that my first venture with the Simple hoop ear ring reaped great rewards and I am now forging on ahead .. full steam ahead, should I say?

I thought I’d figure out bracelets along with ear stuff.. and I was lucky to find a freebie for this.  I’ve used the superb pattern from this pin to work on my bracelet http://www.instructables.com/id/Infinite-circles-crochet-bracelet/

Materials used : Today I’ve used the lovely Indian light polyester viscose yarn for the ear ring and some Indian cotton yarn for the bracelet with a 2 mm crochet hook.

Skill level : Intermediate

Abbreviations used :
fdc : Foundation double crochet                             dc : Double crochet
ch(s) : chain(s                                                             ch-sp : chain space
sp(s) : space(s)                                                           rep : Repeat
hk : hook                                                                     yo : Yarn over
sk : Skip                                                                         lp(s) : Loop(s)
st(s) : Stitch(es)

Stitches used :
fsc : Foundation Single Crochet : To refresh your skill on the fsc, please view this superb video by Tamara Kelly at the link  http://www.mooglyblog.com/foundation-single-crochet-fsc/

Chainless dc start : Instead of the usual start with ch 2 or ch 3, I’d like to introduce this lovely new way of starting a dc row.  Do take a look at this self explanatory super video http://www.mooglyblog.com/chainless-starting-double-crochet/
In case you are unhappy with this start, or do not like it, do continue with the usual ch-2 or ch-3 start.  However, all instructions will be given assuming that you are using the chainless dc start.

There isn’t very much to add for this pattern – just that I used a far thinner thread / yarn than the one suggested, but as the wonderful designer who has given this pattern out freely has said “the possibilities are endless”.

Check out the original photograph .. three different colours.. and made in cotton.. what a totally different end result, right?  So go ahead, create and enjoy

After having tried my hand at this one above, I am sure to come back for some other ones.. so do watch this space for more free jewellery patterns… and come back right here for more freebie patterns

If you're visiting me here for the first time, and have liked the experience, do add me to your mailing list (for your convenience) , and all my future free patterns will come straight to your mail box.

I’d appreciate if you could credit my blog (and link the original pattern link) when you make your own project.  Thanks.
