CABBAGE PATCH DOLL HAT

This ever-so-ute cap has been (im)patiently waiting in my “to-do” list for a long time.. and finally it’s turn has come.  I am pretty sure this is on your list as well, so let’s get to it together, shall we?

This is not my pattern.  These are my notes using yarns available in India.

Materials used : Today I’ve used some Oswal 6/8 ply acrylic yarn with a 5.5 mm crochet hook
For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red ros ; Red rose metallic knitting cotton as well as Vardhaman acrylic yarns
General yarn info : The yarn used today is not specific to this pattern.
You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.

International yarns :  Among the international yarns I have used in this thickness, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn.

Stitches used :
Starting slip knot : Here’s how you start with a slip knot.  https://youtu.be/lJcqsVcs8cw

I have not really changed much for this pattern – it was just perfect the way it is.  I have just written these notes so we Indians know that this pattern is available, and that we can work it (without any change) using the locally available 6-8 ply yarns. If my blog has added any value for you, I’d appreciate a mention too.  Thanks

The most challenging and fun part are looping those loops.  It takes a bit of work, but once you get started, believe me, you’ll blitz through it.
As we are working in rounds, we don’t work a row of sc between loop rounds.

Remember to pull each loop tight before you move onto the next loop.  Do not pull it too tight, as you need that sc to work in the next round of loops J

If you’d like a fringe (as against these curly loops) along the border of your cap, then as suggested in the video link, snip through the loops.. and Voila! You have a fringe!

Have fun creating something oh, so cute! .. and I hope the recipient loves it too.

Enjoyed this ?? I sure did.. come back right here for more freebie patterns
