I just made a really cute beaded headband and I was shown this photograph and asked if I could do something similar. I started on the pattern on my own, and then found a free link.. so here is what I did and the freebie too.

Materials used : Today I’ve used some of our lovely Indian unbranded 4-ply knitting cotton yarn with a 1.75 mm crochet hook ; a few beads or bling

This yarn is not specific for this project.

You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.

For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red ros e ; Red rose metallic knitting cotton as well as Oswal or Vardhaman acrylic yarns

Skill level : Easy to Intermediate. Basic sewing skills needed.

Foundation half double crochet (fhdc) : This is an easy way to start a row of hdc without the starting chain row.

Half Double Crochet : Hdc : yo, insert hk into st ; yo (3 lps on hk) ;

yo, draw through all 3 lps. One hdc made.

Instruction information

As I mentioned at the start, I found a free pattern for the photograph at

https://www.stitchandunwind.com/free-pattern-friday-elegant-floral-headband-from-red-heart/. So you could follow this pattern and then add a few beads.

All I did differently is the way I made my little flowers. Instead of the ch-4 between two petals, I chose to ‘close’ each petal up individually. What does this mean?

For each flower petal I worked a (ch 3, dc 3-tog, ch 3) all in the same st. So I have no trailing chains between 2 petals.

So you now have two patterns for the flower. See which works for you.

For the beads I *cheated* and added them in after I’d finished making my flowers, stem and leaf headband.
