BEAUTIFUL CROCHET CHOKERS I
So the jewellery bug is back.. this time with neck pieces or chokers. If you’ve paid close attention to the title of this blog, you’ll see a nondescript (??! ;) ) “I”, which will indicate that this is the first blog of chokers. If you like what you see here, follow me via the different social media given at the bottom of this blog, for more of the same.. and lots of other free crochet stuff.
Welcome back as we work on this new challenge together.

Magic circle : To refresh your skill, please view this easy video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLuSVyKvoUg
Chainless dc start : Instead of the usual start with ch 2 or ch 3, I’d like to introduce this lovely new way of starting a dc row. Do take a look at this self explanatory super video http://www.mooglyblog.com/chainless-starting-double-crochet/
In case you are unhappy with this start, or do not like it, do continue with the usual ch-2 or ch-3 start. However, all instructions will be given assuming that you are using the chainless dc start.
How to do a picot stitch : A neat video link to refresh this procedure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GGlzZZl3I8
For the first project, I used a lovely white from our Indian Anchor knitting cotton and a 2.5 mm crochet hook.
I used this free pattern from http://dawningdreamsblog.blogspot.in/2008/07/katya-choker.html or http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/katya-choker
For this lovely golden choker, I used Indian Red Rose metallic knitting cotton with a 1.3 mm crochet hook.
I feel that the burnished gold adds another element to an already fantastic pattern. As you can see, I am really running with these chokers, so do watch this space for more of the same.
